It was another tight game between the former Mariners and the current edition. This time, the M's jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and had to hold on for the duration of the game. Kevin Ludwig, the second former Mariner to start against his 2005 teammates, shut down the M's offense for the remainder of the game. But the Mariners got another great outing from one of their pitchers, this time from Brian Thorndike who picked up his first win since 2001. Thorndike was supported offensively by Chris Corde (2 hits, 1 RBI) and Matt Dumont (1 hit, 1 RBI). Brendan Powers of the Hurricanes, not to be confused with the former Mariners skipper bearing a similar name, went 3-4 with 2 RBI.
