It was everything but pretty as the Royals bested the Mariners in their last game of the season. Bill Rivers gave the Royals' pitching staff some much needed rest before the playoffs by throwing a complete game, and earning his 1st ever MABL win.

After the Mariners batted around in the 1st and plated 6 runs, the Royals would come back with 8 runs over the next two innings keyed by Greg Kosc (2 for 3, 2R, 3RBI) and Jason Lewis (3 for 4, R, 5RBI, 2B, 3B, HBP). Mike Malin also had a big day for the Royals (2 for 2, 3BB, 4R) as he scored a career high 4 runs on the day. The 18 runs scored ties a franchise high for the Royals, and every Royals starter scored at least 1 run.

For the Mariners, Tom DeVeau and Jeff Rausch each had 3 hits on the day.

Bill Rivers picks up his 1st win, Drew goes 3 for 5 to bat .300 and win bet, Felix hits 1st Royals HR on the season
