Justin Wetherby shut down his former teammates as the Mariners beat the Mets, 6-3. Wetherby allowed 4 hits and 2 earned runs in 6.1 innings, striking out 4. Tom Deveau earned the save by getting out of a bases-loaded jam in the 7th. The Mariners took advantage of Tim Fortune's wildness to put up a 3-spot in the 1st.
