Astros 3, Athletics 2
SK tossed a CG on two days rest.
Kennedy struck out nine Athletics to give the Astros the one-run win.
The 'stros played errorless defense and plated all three of their runs in the fourth. With men on 1st and 3rd, Dave Kwajewski executed a perfect hit and run to drive in Ron Viola. Then with two outs, Tyler Walsh delivered a single up the middle that scored Rich Newman (2-for-3) and Kwajewski. The 'stros never gave up the lead.
Santi Mazzeo brought it within one in the fifth by homering with Pedro Gil on base, but Kennedy clamped down and got stronger. After the home run he did not allow a baserunner.
Rob Sherman took the loss pitching well through seven innings. He struck out 12 and walked none. Gil had three hits and a SB for the A's.
Neither shortstop recorded a chance in the field. |

How do we not have Kennedy's picture? Kwajewski and Walsh were the RBI men. |
