The A's came out on top in this nail-biter, plating the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the 7th.

The Royals jumped on top early on a Tom Spoth (1-4, 3b) triple followed by an RBI groundout by Scott Reinold (1-2, RBI) in the 1st. The A's tied it up in the 3rd on a Mike O'Brien sac fly.

In the 4th, the Royals scored an unearned run, but in the bottom of the 5th, Bill Tullish (3-4, 3b, RBI, R) singled in Santi Mazzeo (1-2, 2BB, R) in his first MABL game for the A's.

Tied going into the bottom of the 7th, new-comer Bill Tullish blasted a leadoff triple. Ariel Martinez struck out the next two batters before Andrew Billig then came through in a big way with a single to the gap in left-center.

Jeff Sampson (CG, W, 4H, 1 ER, 7K) earned his first MABL win, while Jason Kurtz (5IP, 9H, 2ER, 6K) pitched well for the Royals.

Sampson earns his first MABL win, Billig drives in the winning run, Kurtz with a strong start and a no-decision
