For the second time in as many games the Marlins pulled off a miracle last inning comeback to top the A's 7-5 at Ryan. Rob Sherman of the A's threw 6 innings of no-hit ball but faltered in the 7th, as with one out Tim Sheflin walked, Jason Leone singled (cleanly to right, the first Marlin hit), and with two outs Andy Katz singled to load the bases. Chris Ryan then came through again for the Fish, belting a base hit to right center that tied the game as Leone beat the throw to the plate. Davin Wilfrid then iced it for the Marlins as his skyscraping double to deep left scored two to put the Fish on top. Kevin Brennan (3-0, 2 saves) took time off from his busy Charles River fishing schedule to earn his third win in relief of Neil Doherty. John Howe hit a 2 run homer in the first to stake the A's to an early lead.
