A's OVER CUTTERS IN EXTRAS The A's Jason Kurtz went the distance in an 8-inning A's victory. The A's got 3 in the first. McIntyre drew a bases-loaded walk, and Muollo then hit a 2-RBI single to make it 3-0. The Cutters got one back in the 2nd. Wigmore led off with a double and scored two batters later on a Leineweber fielder's choice. In the A's 3rd, Mahoney singled home Krall to push the lead back to 3. The Cutters tied the game up in their half of the third. Bere singled, MacDonald was hit by a pitch, and Deane doubled, which plated Bere. A Tejada double pushed MacDonald and Deane across the plate, too. The game would stay tied at 4-4 until the 8th inning. Krall, who finished 3-4, led off with a double. Balise then lined one to left to net the game-winning RBI. The Cutters threatened in the bottom of the 8th, loading the bases on walks. But Kurtz settled down and induced a groundout to end the game.
