The Reds stay undefeated on opening day. Led by Chris Allen at the mound who kept the Yankees bats quiet until the seventh. Jeff Mchugh led the seventh off with a HR to right to break the 1-1 tie. Tim Troville reached on an error and Gary Moran doubled. Collin Levesque then singled to drive in two. He was driven in on a hit by Matt Ells. Derek Garabedian then pitched the Reds out of trouble. Mike Ciano started the seventh reaching on an error. Garabedian then singled to send Ciano home on a errant throw. Matt Bloomer drove him in with a Double. Brett Nowlin drew a walk. That set up rookie Jason Ellingson's bases clearing triple to tie the game. He then scored on an errant pick off attempt to win the game.
