A's BEST CUTTERS KURTZ K's 9 The A's topped the Cutters behind the right arm of Jason Kurtz. He tossed five innings, gave up only 3 hits, and struck out 9. The A's scored first. Bo McIntyre led off the 2nd with a double, and was driven in by a Pat Vetter single. Later in the frame, Tom Vadala hit a sacrifice fly to plate Andrew Billig. The Cutters cut the lead in half in the 6th. Mike Hicks singled and stole second. He broke for third and scored when the ball was thrown away. The A's added some insurance in the 7th. Vadala, Brett O'Keefe, and Jordan Krall hit singles. Nick Tapper brought in Vadala on a fielder's choice. And McIntyre plated O'Keefe and Krall with a single. O'Keefe then slammed the door in the Cutters' half of the 7th.
