In a tightly pitched game, the Yankees edged out the Royals in game 2 as Quinn Ryan earned his 2nd Yankees win allowing 3ER in 5 innings. Jamie Mathews (1-2, RBI) came up with the game's key hit in the top of the 6th to knock in Jeff Coveney (2-2) from 3rd base to give the Yanks a 4-3 lead. The drama continued in the bottom of the 6th as Ken Kilduff entered the game with 2 outs and notched a key strikeout to end a Royal's rally. Kilduff then finished out the 7th for the save.
