This was a pitching gem on both sides, which was won by the Yanks in dramatic fashion in the bottom of the 7th. Bryan Gauvin improved to 3-0 and had a perfect game going into the 7th when Indians loaded the bases with an error, a walk and a hit by Mark Bowles. Gauvin pitched out of the jam with 2 strikeouts to end the rally and finish with 15Ks.

Jason Deveau pitched a gutsy 5 1/3 innings of 3 hit ball before yielding to Daryl Pina in the 6th. Pina came in to pitch out of a 1 out, 2 on jam to stop the Yank’s rally.

In the bottom of the 7th, after a walk to Jeff Coveney and a double by Frank Kowalski, Jeff McHugh was intentionally walked to load the bases with 1 out. After a key strikeout by Pina, the stage was set for pinch hitter Murphy. In his 1st ever MABL at bat, Murphy delivered the winning run with a rope to left field.
