The Spinners began their title defense with an 8-2 win in their season opener behind stellar offense and the pitching of Luc Kocher. Kocher went four innings, giving up just two hits while striking out three. Marty Clarke and newcomer Patrick Clapp helped keep the A's offense in check. Omar Caceres drove in two runs and recorded his 100th MABL RBI. Mark Killoren and Dan Caceres each drove in two runs. Armando de Los Santos added two hits.
