Pitching under the lights in his first career Opening Day start, Chad Griffiths spins a no hitter against the Cambridge Spinners improving the Tigers Franchise to 4-0 on Opening Day. Griff was simply brillant striking out 12, including the sides in the 3rd and 4th, while scattering only 4 BB. He didn't allow a baserunner past second until the 6th, when he "clawed" out of a bases loaded jam. The Tigers first struck in the 3rd, with a walk, single, and a Stevens sac fly. They would tack on a few additional runs in the 4th and 5th, led by new Tigers, Mike Byrne (2-3, BB, R, 2 SB) and Eric Harvey (1-3, 2B, RBI). For the Spinners, Glynn was equally impressive, holding the Tigers to a run through 3, before giving way to the pen. However, a run and some crafty footwork at first for the final out would be all Griff would need capping off a magical night. Congratulations Griff! Best of luck this year Spinners.
