On a wet rainy morning, the Titans jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st before the Gators recorded an out. The Gators went to reliever Ricky "alarm clock" Garthe to stem the bleeding, who got them out of the inning and finished the game. The Gators chipped away, scoring in every inning from the 3rd on, while the Titans tacked on to their lead with a run in the 4th and 2 in the 5th. Entering the 7th trailing 10-6, the visiting Gators rallied for 4 runs to force extra frames, and another 4 in the 8th to seal it and secure the Central division pennant.
