FOXBORO -- Before a pitch was even thrown, Mariners manager Connor Brown had a standoff with Foxboro Baseball's Commissioner over field rights. Brown swiftly admonished both of Foxboro's teams off the premises which in turn motivated the Mariners to score seven runs in the first inning. It was apparent the Cubs weren't quite ready for the Friday Night Lights in Foxboro. Alec Palioca took to the hill in the bottom of the 1st inning with a irreplaceable 7-0 lead just as Beyonce took the stage under a mile away singing her hit single "Irreplaceable" -- unfortunately for the Cubs, the only hit single they received was off the bat of Jeremy Middle, who broke up Palioca's no-hitter in the bottom of the 5th. The Mariner's went on to win the game 12-0 as Palioca in his return to the mound struck out twelve in only five innings of work.
