Ron Viola allowed only 2 hits over six innings and earned his second straight victory as the Astros topped the Orioles 9-3 at West Roxbury HS. The Astros offense exploded for 6 runs in the 4th off reliever Luke Keiffer who took the loss. Jesse Peterson got things started with an RBI single, Mike Byrne followed with a FC to score "J. Peterman" and tie the game. James Clarahan followed with a single and then he and Byrne executed a double steal. Tyler Walsh then lined a 2-2 pitch into left center scoring both runners and giving the 'stros the lead for good. Jon Mayes delivered another 2-run single in the 6th following an RBI base hit by Rich Newman. Sean Kennedy pitched a quick 1-2-3 7th and Bryan Healey started and ended the game for the Orioles. The 'stros climbed to 4-9-1 while the O's dropped to 5-9. |
