A possessed Pines' persistently poised pitching passed previously powerful primetime performances, perplexing Pirate hitters with a 9 inning, 9K shutout that included 4 broken Buc bats and innumerable broken spirits. On the eve of Silly's birthday (#26 was born June 9th 1971 in Great Kills, Staten Island in a home without a bathroom), Pines also was a terror offensively with a couple of hits and matching RBIs. Fish reeled in a couple of RBIs between naps as well and the "New" Shaskys improved to 4-1 with a 7-0, defensive gem.
