The Thunder defeated the Orioles in a well-played game at Wellesley, 7-2. Jon Story threw a masterpiece 5-hitter, walking 2, striking out 5, and yielding only 2 runs, and contribuing 2 hits including a double. The game was very tight through 8 innings, Wellesley's Dave Norman pitched well through 8. Wellesley touched Story for one each in the 4th and 5th on hits by Ron Spinale, Norman, and James Wyner, but he was solid as a rock the rest of the way - only one batter reached 2nd base after that. Solid defense again for the Thunder; First Baseman Dave Brown was busy with 15 ground ball outs recorded plus a tremendous pick-off move by Story to kill an 8th inning rally. The Thunder got a bunch of insurance in the top of the 9th. Brian Chen started with a single, with Marr sacrificing him to second.
