Palmer received impressive pitching performances from the Williams brothers against the defending Boston Park League champs on Thursday night. Eric Williams tossed a gem for the first five innings giving up just one earned run on 4 hits while striking out 8. Little bro, Morgan, came in to shut the door the last 2 innings not giving up a run nor a hit to get big bro the win. Palmer jumped out in the top of the 1st inning on a two-out, 2 run sizzling single by Jim Pierce. Palmer got an insurance run in the top of the 6th from Matt Lipsett who continues to come up with clutch hits early on in the season. Palmer got extraordinary effort from Pat Nicholson who not only had 2 hits (one being an infield single on a screamer to 3rd) but also displayed great range at 1st base, showing no ill-effects coming off a devastating knee injury that forces him to wear a gross brace.
