Senators pull out a win in the extra frame beating the Red Sox 3-2. The Sens pitching staff by committee made up of Steve Lippi, Robby Vasquez, and Will Sinopoli would hold a good hitting Red Sox team to 2 runs over 8 innings scattering 8 hits in the process. The Red Sox would jump out to an early 2-1 lead that would last until the 6th inning when a single by Chris Plant and a double by John Maryanski would tie the game. The score would remain tied until the bottom of the 8th when leadoff hitter Jeff Rausch walked to start the inning. Chris Plant would then single to center on a hit and run forcing a play at third base. The throw from center field drifted high, allowing Rausch to scamper home to score the game winning run.
