The White Sox won their 3rd straight game behind the pitching splendor a Dave Martin. Marty tossed a complete game gem, allowing only 3 hits, 1 walk and fanning 9 while allowing no earned runs. Martin also had an unprecedented defensive day on the mound, collecting four infield assists and two putouts at first. With his 9 K's, he was involved in 15 of 21 outs.

The Sox won the game with small ball, as 3 of 7 hits were bunt singles, including 2 by Eamonn McDonough and one from Mike McInnis. In the 3rd inning, Earl Murphy doubled to set the stage for Eamonn's first bunt single. A Marlins error, Jason Ackerson single and Graham Bosworth fielders choice made the score 3-0.

The Marlins lone run came in the 4th inning when Adam Etherington reached via error and later scored on a Mark Daoust clean single to right.

The Sox 4th run came when Bosworth walked in the 5th inning. Matt Giblin pinch ran, stole 3rd and scored.
