The Knights traveled to Maplewood to face off against the Bulldogs. Sean Hannon was on the bump for the Knights to match-up against Zack Thompson. Malden struck right away in the top of the first inning on a double that was smashed to right-centerfield by Englehardt that gave the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead. Malden scored again in the 2nd on a controversial call that would give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead. With 2 outs and a runner at 2nd Brad Tardugno grounded out to 1st base that was called foul by the homeplate umpire. The ball was clearly fair to all involved but gave a second life to Tardugno and he delivered a single to take a 3-0 lead. The Knights would come back in the bottom of that inning taking advantage of 6 walks by the Bulldogs.
