The Spinners outlasted the White Sox 1-0 to take game one of the semifinals series. Luc Kocher pitched a complete game shutout, giving up three white while striking our seven. Greg Megerdichian scored the lone run in the bottom of the fifth when he tripled and later scored on a Colin Sullivan ground out. The White Sox threatened in the top of the seventh when Rommel Peguero tripled with one out, but the Cambridge defense kept Boston off the board. Jon Shepard took the loss for the White Sox. He pitched six innings, giving up one hit while striking out seven. Shepard also helped stop a Spinners rally in the bottom of the fourth with back to back strikeouts with the bases loaded. Game two is Sunday night in Malden.
