The Giants take a big step in locking up a first round bye with a 2-1 win over the A's in Waltham. Phil Carignan threw another impressive CG, striking out 6 and giving up one unearned run. Carignan also shined at the plate driving in the go ahead run with a 2 out triple in the 6th to give the Giants the lead for good. Brett Nowlin & Jared Walsh each added 2 hits to lead the Giants offense The A's Jason Kurtz went toe to toe with Carignan giving up only 2 runs over 7 innings. The Giants are back in action Thursday night against the Dodgers.
