Dillon Dresser (3-1) hurled a 2-hit shutout, and that's what it was going to take to beat Josh Desai in this one. Though it took a lot of help from Towne center fielder Chris Hoyt, who made a spectacular game ending diving catch into the gap with two runners headed for the plate. Dresser got out of jams in the first and seventh both in which he walked two - his only free passes of the night - and allowed only two singles to Rob Caggiano. Desai struck out 11 and only gave up one walk and a hit batter to go along with three hits. Towne scored in the first as Hoyt walked, Dana Dresser reached on an error, Hoyt stole third and then they pulled off a double steal with Hoyt scoring. Vinnie Monahan's 2-out single in the 7th scored Alex Venditti, who had singled and moved up on Grant Bowen's sacrifice bunt. Tim Corey (double) had the game's only other hit.
