The Red Sox would need a come from behind win to take down the Senators in the bottom of the 7th. Kraig Moody started for the Red Sox and was cruising right along until the 6th inning when the Senators would finally get to him scoring 5 runs in the inning to tie up the game. The Senators would take the lead in the top of the 7th, but only to be out done when the Red Sox scored two in the bottom of the 7th, capped off by a game winning 2 RBI single by Sam Delvecchio, who also picked up the win. Bill Ferdinand had a 2 for 2 game with a walk and a hit by pitch, reaching base all 4 times up. Delvecchio was 3 for 4 with 4 RBI's. Tom Decarlo was 2 for 3 with a key RBI single in the 6th to tie up game.
