On a hot sunny day in Dorchester, the Eire Pub Red Sox and Mariners squared off against each other for the first time in their respective franchise's history. The M's jumped out to a 5-0 lead after 2 innings, but the Red Sox were persistent and came back with 5 runs of their own to tie the score after 3. With the Red Sox leading 7-6 in the top of the 5th, the M's Matt Dumont crushed a timely double to plate 2 runs and put the M's back on top, 8-7. The M's added three more in the 6th and Dumont came on to close out the Red Sox, 11-7. For the M's, it was all about timely hitting. Matt Dumont's double put the Mariners back on top for good, and Jay LaPointe and Matt O'Loughlin had key hits to add to the lead in the late innings. For the Red Sox, Sam Delvecchio had a huge 2-RBI triple, and Adam Levesque added 2 hits.

Dumont put the M's ahead for good and closed out the game from the hill, while LaPointe picked up a key hit in the 6th.
