An early explosion of offense by both teams turns into a mid-inning pitchers duel with both teams' bats quieting down until the bottom of the 6th when Towne's Lamberton drove in the tying runs. TC then managed to load the bases with 0 outs and their 3,4,5 hitters coming up, expecting to drive in go ahead runs. Instead, two strikeouts lead to Bowen's AB with 2 outs and bases still loaded, at which point both teams experienced the nearly never-seen late inning balk call for the go ahead run in TC's favor. TC closer Peter Mansfield threw the 6th and 7th, stranding the tying run in the 7th on third to seal the victory.
