A's SLUG WAY TO GAME 1 WIN The A's took game 1 of the series with big bats and efficient pitching. Jordan Krall singled home two A's in the third inning, but the A's broke it open two innings later. The fifth inning saw the A's rattle off seven runs. Highlights included a three-run home run by Nick Tapper, an RBI single from Andrew Billig, and RBI doubles from Brett O'Keefe and Buddha Asdornvuttikrai. Kyle Breidenstine was his usual, masterful self on the mound. He allowed just one run and five hits while striking out four.
