The Tribe beat the A's 3-1 in a tight game at EB Stadium. Jason DeVeau pitched six strong innings for the win, striking out nine and allowing just four hits and one unearned run. At the plate, Marco Abreu and Jason Sweatt each knocked in a run as the Indians got all they would need in the bottom of the first. Brook Smith had a great day at second base, making a number of big plays throughout the game. For the A's, Rob Sherman pitched well in defeat, allowing just five hits and blanking the Indians after the first.
