The Grays jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom half of the first inning after holding the Senators scoreless in the top half of the inning.. Nate Laliberte had the only extra base hit of the game for the Senators smacking a double down the RF line in the top half of the 4th. Nine more runs were scored by the Grays during a monster bottom half of the 4th inning. Tad Beagley led the Grays offense going 3-4, 2B, 2R & 3RBI. Patrick Potter also made a solid contribution with a multi-hit game going 2-4, 3B, R & an RBI. On the mound, Bill Riggieri was a work horse pitching a CG shutout while allowing only three hits. Riggieri would S.O. nine Senators in all while only walking one. The Senators SP pitched well for the first three innings...so well that between the 2nd & 3rd innings, he struck out six Grays in a row. However, his lack of command in the fourth inning resulted in a bundle of walks & hits for the Grays.
