The White Sox put on an 18-hit display versus the Athletics in what began as a tight game. The A's took a quick 2-run lead in the first inning, but the White Sox quickly tied the score 2-2 in the bottom of the frame. After some slugging by both teams, the Sox only had a narrow 9-8 lead at the end of 4 innings. But then the onslaught began as the White Sox scored 13 runs in their final 2 innings. Dave Timmons, Al Wiesner and Mike Lembo each picked up 3 hits for the Sox. And Josh Gordon, Jon Mead, Jim Baldyga and Mike Lembo all scored at least 3 times. Jon Mead also had 4 RBI to lead in that category. Mike Lembo recorded his first MABL win, having relieved starter Sam Voolich in fourth inning and completing the game. For the A's, Ryan Quinn and Mike O'Brien each had a pair of hits.
