The Mariners and Diamondbacks tangled for the second consecutive time, a doubleheader of sorts...albeit separated by 11 days. The M's were once again able to get the best of the Dbacks, this time behind the stellar pitching of Wade Briggs and Nick Baseel. Briggs and Baseel limited the Dbacks to 4 hits while striking out 15. The M's hitters shook off the rust from the 11-day layoff, highlighted by John Beattie, Corey Aldoupolis, and Steve Limoges, who combined to go 4-11 with 6 of the team's 7 RBI. For the Dbacks, Steve VanReenen had 2 hits and Chuck Scott cranked a double.
