Al Wiesner tossed a 2-hit shutout, surrendering only singles to Chad Besegai and Sam Price. Wiesner collected 10 K's and allowed just 2 walks. The victory allowed the White Sox to win the season series versus the Rangers, 2-1.
The White Sox damage began in the 3rd inning when consecutively, Matt Giblin singled, Al Wiesner walked, Kyle Michaud singled (scoring Giblin) and Jason Hoye hit a 2-RBI triple (scoring Wiesner and Michaud). Wiesner and Michaud also each picked up RBI-singles later in the night. Mike Lembo too swung a hot bat, picking up 3 singles.
Jay Wisner pitched well in defeat, tossing 5 innings and allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, and 3 walks (all to Wiesner). Kevin Krueger finished out the game for the Rangers. |
