Dave Martin pitches a 2-hit gem, allowing the Sox to beat the Cardinals for the first time in their franchise history. Both hits came in the Cardinals 3rd, when a Billy McDougal walk, Conrad Paquette single and 2-RBI Dan Jalbert triple did the damage. Martin finished with 8 K's on the day and improved to 4-1.

The Sox had struck first to make the score 2-0 with the help of a walk, error, and Nate Pane single which was aided by two more bases from an outfield miscue. Then Jalbert had tied it in the next frame to make the score 2-2.

So with a 2-2 score, Jason Hoye had an RBI single in the bottom of the 3rd inning to score Mike McInnis who had walked. Neither team scored the rest of the way through various threats by both sides. Jeff James took the complete game loss.

Dave Martin outduals Jeff James.
