White Sox 9, Reds 1
Anthony Tomaro scatters 3 hits and 1 run over 6 strong innings to push the White Sox forward to the Championship Series. The Sox win the series 3 games to 1.
Tomaro worked 12 innings in the series giving up a total of 4 hits while striking out 9.
Jon Naumowicz led the Sox with 2 hits and 3 RBI.
The Reds scored in the bottom of the third to narrow the Sox lead to 3-1. With runners on 1st and 2nd in motion and 0 outs, Chris Dumas lined a shot up the middle. Short-stop Ivan Clemente made a great play on the ball, stepped on second and tagged the runner from first to complete the unassisted triple-play, swinging the momentum in the Sox favor.
The Reds are a clutch team that gave us all that we could handle. Thanks to the 2008 champions for a great series. |
