Sat, 16 June, 5:00PM, at Charlestown - Ryan (Game 2 of DH)
Tigers 5, Quincy Grays 2
In his first start of the season, the Tigers take Game 2 of the double header behind the arm of Nate Pane (5 2/3 IP, 3H, 2ER, 10K).
The Grays jumped out to an early lead in the 1st, scoring 2 runs on a single, double and 2 SB. The Tigers however would quickly score 2 of their own in the 2nd, with some help from the bottom of the order. Long (2-2, 3B, BB) began the inning with a single and advanced to 2nd on a SB. Field (1-2, 2B, RBI) then scorched a 2B down the left field line scoring Long. Giblin (2-3, RBI) would follow suit with a single of his own, scoring Field to tie the game at 2-2.
The Tigers would tack on 3 more in the 3rd and 6th innings, proving to be enough for Wlodarczyk who closed out the last 1 1/3 innings to record the save.
Kudos to Pat Long who went 4-5, 3B, 2RBI, 2SB, BB in the DH versus his former team. Hats off to the Grays for a well fought series. |
