Mike Knell and EJ Freni faced off in a pitchers duel on Sunday afternoon at BB&N. The Reds drew first blood, pushing across a run in the top of the 4th on a double play ground out by Knell. The M's knotted the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the 5th when Ed Bourget knocked in Tim DeMarco. An inning later, a Dave Salafia base hit scored Chris Corde with the go-ahead run. That was enough for EJ Freni, who earlier in the season won a 1-0 decision over the Orioles. For the M's, Steve VanReenen, Tim DeMarco, and Dave Salafia had two hits apiece.
