Mariners pitcher EJ Freni made his first start of the season opposite the Orioles' Bryan Healey, who was looking for his first win following an 8-win campaign in 2006. Healey didn't disappoint, allowing only 1 Mariner runner to score. But on this day Freni was better. Freni shut out the O's and limited them to only 3 hits. The Birds threatened in the 3rd and 7th, but in both innings O's runners were cut down at the plate.
