Leury Peguero and Junior Estrella of the Orioles combined to stymie the A's bats, spinning a 2-hitter to offset a well pitched game by Jason Kurtz of the A's. Myles Comeau put the O's up 1-0 with an opposite-field RBI single in the 2nd inning. That was all the scoring until Nick Scavello drove in a critical insurance run for the Orioles in the top of the 6th after Junior Rodriguez led off with a double. This loomed large after the A's staged a late rally in the 7th. After Alan Donaruma reached on a walk, he advanced to second on a groundout and then scored on a two-out double by Rathapoom Asdornvuttikrai. With the tying run in scoring position, Jay Lamoureux smacked a line drive down the right field line that was snared by 1B Dan Cooney to end the game.
