In an extra inning extravaganza at Ryan Field, teh Rockies battled the Yankees for 8 strong innings. Both teams needed the victory. But the day belonged to the Rockies as Brian Cooper pitched 8 innings of 2ER baseball to take home the win.

The Yankees scored first in the 4th inning on a leadoff double by McHugh, with a Coveney SACF to bring him home. Again in the 5th they scored another run as Cooper was called for a Balk with Moloney on 3rd base, who singled to start the inning. But the Rockies came back to score 2 in the bottom of the 6th to tie the game. With 2 outs, Corson singled, Close got on base with an error, Ky Philson drove in Corson with a single, Moran walked, than Neal Roper walked to bring home Close. It wasn't until the 8th inning when, with the bases loaded with Rockies, a suicide squeeze attempt scored Mike Close.
