For the second year in a row the Marlins have a rookie pitcher throw a perfect game. Kyle Shedden was lights out all night, striking out 16 of the 21 batters he faced and not allowing a ball out of the infield. Solid defensive plays by Anthony Shea at 3rd and Sean O'Neill at short kept the perfect game alive early before Shedden locked in. The Marlins' bats were quiet, but drawing walks and 15 stolen bases kept runners in a position to score all night. The Jakes forced the Marlins to strand runners all night, keeping the game close throughout.
