White Sox 18, Randolph Grays 2
The White Sox closed out their 22-4 regular season with an 18-run attack over the Grays. The Sox scored in each inning, with some unlikely heroes: Tom Manning picked up his first two hits and first RBI of the season with a 2 for 3 performance; Jon Banchick doubled in his only plate appearance of the season with an RBI, finishing at a 1.000 clip with a slugging average of 2.000; Brett Rudy doubled his hit production on the season with a single, double and 2 RBI; and 9 other Sox also hit safely. And Al Wiesner and Earl Murphy were each HBP exactly twice, a feat no ther MABL player had done all season.
Lost in the shuffle was Dave Martin who pitched 4 innings of 2-hit ball with 7 K's to improve to 5-1. Mike Lembo closed out the final frames in his first mound appearance of the season, allowing only one hit. |
