The Reds clinched first place in the Bay State with a last inning comeback over the Yankees.
Chris Allen pitched the complete game on three days rest. He gave up two unearned runs, and finished with 7 K's. He was matched with equally good pitching from Quinn Ryan and Tim Troville.
Down 2-1 in the seventh Sean Magee drew a one out walk. Chris Allen roped one to center. Brian Straccia reached on an error. Magee then scored the tying run on a wild pitch. Brandon Moore brought in the eventual winning run with a huge hit to center. The Reds added another run on a Dunne fielders choice, scoring the pinch runner Niemi. Allen put the Yankees down in order in the seventh to seal the victory. |
