Tim Fortune pitched a complete-game five-hitter as the Mets scratched and clawed to their seventh straight win. Fortune didn't walk a batter and didn't allow an earned run, while striking out four. Offensively the Mets struggled against Chris Filiberto, who pitched a masterful game in defeat. But the Mets broke it open in the seventh on a bases loaded triple from catcher Jason Blye. Earlier Greg Cote scored on double steal in the second and Craig Lloyd scored on a Jay Joyce single. For the Braves, Swanson had two hits.
