An exciting game that almost saw a Towne comeback with the tying run stranded on third in the 7th. Rizzo starts the first with a hit and later scores on Collins' single. Cannon ties it up in the 4th when Neshe works the count to draw a bases loaded walk. Cannon breaks through in the 5th when Newton leads off with a single and moves to third on a botched double play ball. Allen hits a booming triple into the trees that plates 2 and later scores on Mccues single. Towne not done, Hoyt leads off with a triple of his own but is cut down tagging up by a rifle throw from Allen in right preserving the score. With one out and two on in the 7th, Corey sends a ball into the trees and just misses a HR by inches and has to settle for a 2 run triple. Campion digs down and K's the last batter to leave him there for the win.
