Sat, 10 July, 12:00PM, at Brighton - Cassidy (CCircle) (Game 2 of DH)
Tigers 11, Senators 1
Tensions ran high in game 2, as the heat and humidity proved to be too much for both the Senators and Tigros. The Tigers jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first on a Mayes (2-3, 2 RBI's) RBI double, and wouldn't look back from there. Tensions heated in the 3rd after a brief convo between Gib, Birdy, and Alberto helped play a huge factor into the Tigers putting up a 7 spot pushing the game out of reach. Tigers starter Josh Vernon (5 in., ER, 4 K's) pitched well picking up his first win since 2003. A downpour would end the game in the 6th, giving the Tigers a sweep of the double header and season series. Silk, Gib, Mayes, Stevens, and M. Vern all had mutiple hits in the win. Dave Timmons had a hit and run for the Sens in helping to keep his team sound throughout the day. |
