It was a battle of Aces in the first round of the MABL's new series "Face-offs before the Play-offs" as the Tigers' Wlodarczyk squared off against the Grays' O'Hara at Ryan. The two Cy contenders came out looking the part as both dominated thru 2. The Grays got on the board in the 3rd as O'Hara reached on an error and was driven in on a nice single thru the hole by Beagley. They put another run on the board in the 4th on 2 hits, and O'Hara seemed to have all he'd need to lock up the Cy, but for some reason he was replaced in the 5th by O'Leary and the Grays could not hold the lead. The Tigers proceeded to score 3 in the 5th on 3 H and 3 SB, as Stevens, Long and Gib all drove in runs. The Tigers added 4 more in the 6th as Morgan, Fab and Silk picked up their RBIs to give Rich all the cushion he would need to avenge his only loss. Rich finished the game allowing just 5 hits and 1 ER for his MABL record tying 9th win.
