Rangers 5, Mariners 4
The Rangers won the second leg of a home and away series with the Mariners, with another come from behind victory. The Rangers were behind 1-0, 3-1, and 4-3 but always seemed to find an answer.
Down 3-2 in the 5th inning, Chris Dutton came through with a 2 out, RBI single to tie the game. The Mariners responded with a run in the 6th when the brothers Aldoupolis combined a triple and a sac fly for a run.
Down 4-3 in the bottom of the 6th, Davin Wilfrid (3-3,2B,3B) led off the inning with a triple down the left field line. Jason Skypeck (2-2, 2 RBI) drove him in with his 2nd clutch hit of the game. Skypeck would score the go ahead run when a Brian Delaney grounder was fielded and thrown away.
Rookie Danny Richter (4 IP, 3 runs) put the Rangers in a position to win with 4 effective innings of work. Kevin Krueger got the win, pitching the final 3 frames.
Jason LaPointe went 3-3 for the Mariner offense. |
