Having won their two prior contests, the Grays entered the game against the Mariners with considerable momentum. Heading into the 4th, the Grays held a 2-0 lead thanks to timely hitting and smooth fielding. The M's bats finally awoke in the 4th, knotting the score at 2-2 until the 6th. In the top half of the 6th, with 2 on and 2 out, Frank Rich came through with a clutch 2-RBI single to put the M's ahead for good.
